Model upgrade improves forecast quality

An upgrade of ECMWF’s Integrated Forecasting System (IFS) implemented on 11 July improves forecast skill in medium-range and monthly forecasts.

ECMWF is now accepting applications for its 2018 training courses. The programme includes courses on numerical weather prediction, using ECMWF forecast products, and software packages and applications used for operational weather predictions.
