Annual Report 2023

The report reviews progress towards the goals set out in ECMWF's ten-year Strategy under the pillars of ‘Science and technology’, ‘Impact’, and ‘Organisation and people’. It highlights a selection of activities from across the organisation, achieved with the support of Member and Co-operating States and the meteorological community.

Key developments included the upgrade of the Integrated Forecasting System to Cycle 48r1, the development of a new machine learning weather forecasting model - the AIFS, improvements in forecast skill, and contributions to the European Union’s Copernicus and Destination Earth initiatives.
