Summary:

Michael is working on utilising modern software engineering techniques, such as automated code generation and symbolic computation, to enhance numerical weather prediction through the use of novel and emerging HPC architectures. He has extensive experience in developing numerical software packages and domain-specific languages.

Career background:

Michael Lange obtained his PhD in Computing from Imperial College London in 2014. He has worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College until joining ECMWF in 2018.
