Starting line

The starting line is omitted for products in GRIB code. ECMWF procedures conform to those specified in the WMO Manual on the GTS. The format is

 

<SOH> <CR> <CR> <LF> nnn

where

nnn is a transmission sequence number, following WMO rules. Numbers '000' to '999' are used in a cyclic manner, starting with 000 for the first message containing data from the current day's operations.
