A broad assessment of state-of-the-art coupled seasonal forecast models
is intended in DEMETER. This site intends to display a general overview
of the performance of the different models participating in the project,
as well as of the multi-model hindcasts. You can find here a description
of the different experiments used in the verification. The assessment
contains estimates of model bias for a wide range of variables, including
zonal averages, time series of a large set of indices
of precipitation, SST, and large-scale patterns of variability, and
a suite of verification scores for deterministic and probabilistic hindcasts
in global maps and averaged over a set of regions.
The catalogue is updated in real time. This implies that plots will
change as soon as new hindcasts are included in the MARS database. Don't
forget to come back regularly to check out the evolution of your favourite
model.
