A joint workshop with WCRP's (World Climate Research Programme) Working Group on Seasonal to Interannual Prediction (WGSIP) will take place in Barcelona (Spain) from the 4th to the 7th (morning) of June 2007. Following the workshop, a dedicated ENSEMBLES meeting on s2d activities will be held on the 7th (afternoon) and 8th June. Information about the ENSEMBLES meeting follows below. ObjectivesAll the Research Themes that deal with s2d data are expected to interact during this meeting. The participants will consider the status of these activities, the goals achieved to that date and the plans for the fourth year of the project. Aspects that will be addressed are:
Meeting structureThe structure of the ENSEMBLES meeting will depend on the final programme of the workshop. It is expected that the workshop will have a final plenary session for joint discussions. A certain number of talks will be scheduled at the meeting, the list of which will depend on those that will be already done in the workshop. However, all partners are encouraged to bring posters to present their work. The suggested poster format is A1 portrait (594mm x 841mm). Partners taking part in the Research Themes RT2B, RT4, RT5 and RT6 are particularly encouraged to attend the meeting and present their results to foster cross-RT interaction. RegistrationThe meeting is open to all the ENSEMBLES partners and to external scientists interested in specific ENSEMBLES activities. If you wish to attend the workshop, please send an email to Antje Weisheimer or Paco Doblas-Reyes indicating whether or not you are planning to prepare a presentation or a poster, the title and whether the contribution will be presented at the WCRP/ENSEMBLES workshop.
