Description :

The BUFR Toolbox provides a Graphical User Interface to the ECMWF BUFRDC software, allowing users to decode and view the contents of a BUFR message and to encode data in BUFR and CREX format. A message may be filtered to display only the requested descriptors, area or time and a data coverage map is shown. Messages can be sent via ftp to a remote server.
It is a product of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and was written in the Meteorological Applications Section (MetApps).

Roadmap :

This is the beta-release which runs on a linux platform. There will be future development to allow use on different platforms.

Available versions :

Available versions are bufr_toolbox-0.4,bufr_toolbox-0.3,bufr_toolbox-0.2,bufr_toolbox-0.1.

The main improvements in version bufr_toolbox-0.4 are as follows:

• Allow user to pass in filename on start up.
• Improvement in speed of 'show all' messages.
