Applications to Meteorological Training Course 2004

Member States and Co-operating States

Member States and Co-operating States

All applications must be submitted through the relevant National Meteorological Service using ECMWF's application form. Additional application forms are available either from the National Meteorological Services or direct from ECMWF.

Applications from universities or similar institutions within the Member States and Co-operating States must be channelled through, and supported by, the National Meteorological Service. A copy of the application form should also be sent direct to ECMWF.

ECMWF does not charge course fees for participants from Member States and Co-operating States.

One student per Member State is entitled to reimbursement of travelling expenses.

International Organizations

Applicants from International Organizations should apply direct to ECMWF. For these organizations course fees are payable (for details please contact E. Kooij-Connally, address below). Because of pressure of space in some modules not all applications may be honoured.

Member States of WMO

For the course module "Use and interpretation of ECMWF products in WMO National Meteorological and Hydrological Services", applicants from WMO Member Countries will not be charged course fees. Applications should be sent to ECMWF directly. Also applicants from WMO Member States can apply for financial assistance towards travel and subsistence. Requests for such support must be submitted to ECMWF together with the course application.

Other States

Member States may nominate students from Other States for the course on Numerical Weather Prediction. Also, Other States may propose candidates via the Secretary General of WMO. A full curriculum vitae covering the academic background of all potential participants will be required, along with a statement about which institution will be responsible for paying the course fees. Following the closing date for nominations, the Centre will allocate any remaining places to suitable candidates from Other States once all requests from Member States and Co-operating States have been met.

Deadline for applications

Applications for the Meteorological Training Course should arrive at the Centre before 6 February 2004.
