Weather warning Please note that the wintry conditions in the Reading area are likely to continue into the next week with more snow forecast for the weekend. For those of you intending to travel by car please note that at this stage the ECMWF car park is not accessible though we hope that by next week this will be remedied. As transport may be disrupted we strongly advise you to bring suitable clothing with you so that, once you have reached Reading, you can walk from your hotel to ECMWF. Distance from Reading town centre to ECMWF is about 3 miles (5 km) and a suggested walking route can be found here. Availability of taxis will depend on the road conditions. Its aim is to review and present the project’s progress to date and plans for the coming year. This will be achieved through a set of parallel meetings on individual themes, followed by plenary presentations and discussions. The Assembly will include a plenary session devoted to user requirements, plans and initial feedback. Training lectures may also be provided, according to demand. Open User Session during the assembly During the First MACC General Assembly a dedicated open user session will be held on Thursday, 14 January 14:00 – 17:15. See here for details.RegistrationThis Assembly is organized primarily for partners, reviewers and advisers of the MACC Project, and users of atmospheric environmental services. To take part in the Assembly you must register in advance. Participation is limited to 150 persons. There is no registration fee. The deadline for registration is 15 December 2009. Registration has now closed. Social functionsWe will host a cocktail party at ECMWF on Tuesday 12 January.
